Derc was founded
Ramazan & Cemile Çakmak open a studio serving local brands with print and advertising. A small room in İzmir, big care.
It started in 1978 in İzmir — a small studio, two founders, a big sense of care. The studio Ramazan and Cemile Çakmak built became Arborra in 2023, now led by Ekin and Tuğba Çakmak. Same discipline, renewed language.
From Derc to Arborra: the name changed, the desk didn't. Each chapter has its own language — but the care for brands has never changed.

The agency evolved from making ads to growing brands — strategy, identity, long partnerships.
The second generation joined. Social, content, motion and digital production were added.
Derc carried 45 years of craft into a new name. Brand growth + sourcing — two clear pillars.
Ekin & Tuğba Çakmak as founding partners. A six-person creative team in İzmir, working with Turkish and global brands.
The first generation laid the foundation. The second speaks it in today's language.
Founded Derc in 1978. He stayed at the desk late into the night to find the right line for each brand — a founder who knew instinctively which tone belonged to which client. He shaped the agency's voice. No longer with us, but the care he built is what we continue.
Est. 1978 — Foundation of DercHer instinct ran through every client relationship and every visual decision at Derc. She knew how a brand should speak at any given moment — quietly, but decisively. No longer with us; the way she worked is embedded in everything we do.
Est. 1978 — Creative soulStudied English Language & Literature, Comparative Literature, Philosophy and Data Mining — four disciplines whose intersection shapes his approach: finding not what's said, but what hasn't been said yet. He carries Derc's craft into contemporary creative infrastructure. Reads every brief personally.
Arborra — since 2023A graduate of METU. Respect for detail. From a film set plan to quality control on a textile order — every operational step carries her method. Arborra's sourcing service was built under her leadership.
Arborra — Sourcing & OpsDesign, social media, production and sourcing — a small, multi-skilled team. Names and photos coming soon.
Fewer clients, deeper work. One point of contact per brand — no multi-layer coordination, no games of telephone.
One creative director, one account lead per brand. Nothing gets lost between who heard it and who executes it.
Voice, rhythm, visual language — built from scratch per brand. Whatever worked for last month's client does not appear in your brief.
Creative work isn't made to admire — it's made to sell and to grow. Every deliverable ties back to a KPI.
